  • Using a sea sponge, sponge the short candle with Sonoma Wine and Kim Gold.  Double load the sponge with both colors.

  • When the paint is dry, float around the edges of each candle in the following colors:  Tall candle:  Black Green, Medium candle: Trail Tan, Short candle:  Candy Bar Brown.   Use a liner brush or small round brush to make the long “drips of wax” on the candle.  This is a teardrop stroke.  Use the colors suggested for the floating.

  • Splatter all pieces with Ivory and then with Black (Optional).

  • When all the paint is dry, varnish with Ceramcoat varnish.

  • Glue the candles together with wood glue or tacky glue.  Let the glue dry.  (Optional:  nail the candles together for an extra strong hold)  Tie on a rag ribbon and glue on the star.  Or drill two holes in the star, like a button, and wire the star to the rag ribbon.
